More often than not, greeting cards feature images of white, able-bodied faces in traditional family set ups. Where are the women in hijabs? The men of colour? The people in wheelchairs? We aim to represent those who aren’t represented in mainstream cards.
The idea behind Cards Inclusive was born in Australia’s Blue Mountains in April 2020. What followed was six months of prep, planning, printing and learning (plus one flight back home to the UK!), before Cards Inclusive launched in October that year. We started with a collection of just nine cards and have continued to grow ever since. Each card is designed by the Cards Inclusive founder and brought to life by a dedicated artist.
